puh-lease....global warming crisis?
you've got to be kidding me.
the fact that that phrase was written in the intro "this is what you need to blog about" paragraph, makes me not want to be writing this at all.
first of all, it's a weather pattern
second of all, i thought it was global climate change
and last, ppl should just plain old be considerate of the environment regardless of whether global warming exists or not.
now i think i should share a little bit about my beliefs on this so called "global warming crisis"
i believe that global warming is just a scam that al gore made up just so he could make a little money. not like he doesn't have enough. and then he preaches to us about how we should go 'green' when he's goin around flyin in his jets and with his seven or something mansions.
anyways, i think there are other things we should consider instead of going straight to energy alternatives like nuclear power right away.
for example, 80% of the food that we produce is wasted and thrown away in landfills. and then takes a long time to decompose and all the while setting gases into the air that contribute to the earth's increasing temperature. we may send some of the extra food to africa but none the less, other countries do need to learn to be independent sooner or later and not dependent on other countries to provide them with food. maybe i sound selfish. but i guess that's just how it's coming out.
either ways, why can't people just plain be more considerate of the environment. stop wasting. start recycling. i guess that was just the lifestyle i grew up around but it's really sad that we need to go straight to the extremes like energy alternatives right away, when this whole "global warming crisis" isn't even something that's been proven to be real. Many scientists have many different opinions on it. we just choose to listen to the ones that tell us it's real.
we have to make such a big deal out of everything
ugh....it's getting really old.
w/e.

HOOOORRRRRAAAHHH FOR SCHOOL!!!!!
seriously tho, i think u r right, cus it really hasnt been proven, altho some sort of alternative energy isnt bad anyways tho, like light, or wind energy, its good stuff. Also, WHY AFRICA!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? for the food i mean
I completely agree with you about our respecting the environment. We as humans really shouldn't have to wait until it's a huge problem to do something about it, it should be something we are doing anyways.
And even if 'global climate change' isn't a huge problem, we should treat it as such anyways. There is nothing to lose if we are wrong. What if it is wrong? Then we end up with greener people anyways. Consider the alternative: what if we decide it is nothing, and do nothing? If we are right, so what. But what then if we were wrong?
I must say I am disgusted by the whole 'going green' phase we're going through. It's created a market where most people will only buy so-called green products, and because of this there are too many products being manufactured claiming to be green, some of which are not. This does no help towards the supposed issue of global warming, since people who think they are going green are not as much as they think they may be, and the producers of these 'green' products only get more income to do with what they please (build more smog-emitting factories?)
I can't say I agree with you completely, but then again, you do support Bush...
Dear Margaret-
I'll start by saying that i truly agree about the recycing aspect. The sheer amount of trash and waste in our world is just saddening. I've seen way too many people simply throw their plastic bottles in the trash because they're too lazy to get up and walk to the recycling bin. And would you believe that Panama- a fairly decent, middle class country- doesnt even have a recycling program? It's terrible, especially when we have all this plastic nonbiodegradable crap that nobody knows what to do with.
Global warming, whether it exists or not, should act as an incentive for protecting the planet. The earth really needs it after we've trashed it for nearly 2,000 years. Consider global warming outside the context of al gore. He may be a hypocrite, but the problem is real.
